Five Proposals for the future of the Atlantic YardsOPerA_Studio-atlantic-yards

June 5 – June 22, 2014

In response to growing concerns about the direction that development of the Atlantic Yards might take and the potential impact on the surrounding communities, a group of architects exploring alternatives from a design perspective will present their work. The exhibition has been organized by architect Thomas Barry, principal of the Brooklyn-based design firm OPerA Studio, with contributed exhibits from five firms, including Joshua Zinder Architecture + Design (JZA+D); Amoia Cody Architecture; David Cunningham Architecture Planning; Matthias Altwicker and Farzana Gandhi; and OPerA Studio.

Mythological Evolution: A Re-Creation Creation Myth

Warehouse 623 is please to announce “Mythological Evolution: A Re-Creation Creation Myth,” a multimedia installation by Alexis Karl. Spanning the entire first floor of the converted warehouse space, the exhibition includes painting, sculpture, film, music, and fragrance. Karl poses questions and brings forth new possibilities as to accepted evolutionary theories by showing us the mythological and hybrid creatures of her invented universe.


Jungle Art! Brooklyn

Warehouse 623 Gallery’s first exhibition, “Jungle Art! Brooklyn” is a group show with painting, sculpture, and jewels by Tania Llinares, Luc Baille, Vincent Gibeaux, Philippe Vignal, and Pierre Henri Guerard, with the participation of the worldwide perfumer Christophe Laudamiel.
